Here’s a custom exercise I created for my online students, and now I’m sharing it here on YouTube. The idea is simple but powerful: take the same short phrase and play it across the entire neck. It’s a great drill not only for technique, but especially for fretboard visualisation and note recognition.
I designed this to help students who often say: “I play by shapes, but I don’t really know the names of the notes I’m playing.” This exercise helps you break that pattern—one position at a time.
To make it even easier to grasp, I’ve included color-coded diagrams so you can clearly see how the note sequence repeats all over the neck. It’s a practical, visual way to internalise the logic of the fretboard.
