I have created this PDF for one of my students to help him locate the chord tones for each chord so he can use them in his improvisation.

Sometimes, just playing the scale isn't enough, and knowing the chord tones allows you to emphasize or focus on the right notes for each chord.

A chord is formed by the root, third, and fifth in the case of a triad, and we add a seventh in the case of a seventh chord. In my diagrams, I have presented the root as a colored circle, the third as a triangle, the fifth as an X, and the seventh as a diamond shape.

You'll find the "open" position of each arpeggio (triad and seventh chord) and also the next position on the fretboard, without open strings.

I hope it is useful.
